AFFORDABLE WEDDING CENTERPIECES

Florist tips for ordering wedding centerpieces on a budget.

STAY LOW     For many years the trend has been to use high centerpieces that are raised up on stands.
The cost of renting flower stands or having to purchase tall glass vases lessens the amount of money you have to spend on your flowers.

MONO FLORA      Using one type of flower will allow your florist to purchase the flowers at a better wholesale price for larger quantity, in turn helping to keep your costs down.  Even an arrangement containing three different flowers will be less expensive than one containing five or six different varieties.  The smaller the quantity ordered wholesale, the higher the flower cost to your florist.  Adding more varieties to your centerpiece will result in more labor costs.

DON'T BE A FLOWER SNOB      It's all a matter of taste so if your favorite flower is a tulip, go for it.  They are much less expensive that roses, calla lilies, or orchids and make a graceful presentation when arranged.  Tulips are also available in a wide range of colors and varieties.  The same can be said for many other budget friendly flowers such as alstormeria, daisies and carnations.

Hope this is helpful.  Let me know what you think!
